AJM United were one of the first major Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) contractors onsite, playing a large role in the St Marys Water Recycling Plant's reliability and renewal works. The project covered multiple different processing plants, each requiring specialised installation, each serving a vital part of the overall operation.

The Challenge.
This GC21 contract required precise planning and coordination between AJM United's manufacturing shop and onsite installation teams. The company operated two parallel project management teams — one offsite, one onsite — and assigned dedicated teams to each area to ensure compliance with Sydney Water technical standards.
Scope of Works.
- Supply, Engineering, Manufacturing, Coatings, Delivery of Structural Steel & Piping
- Structural Steel, Building, Platforms, Stairs, Pipe Supports
- SS316 Launders, Troughs, Scum Boxes, Stop Boards, Discharge & Bypass Weirs
- Mechanical Equipment installation
- Piping: SS316, PVC-U, PE, ABS non-metallic piping & fittings
- Double Containment Chemical Piping (GF and Vinidex)
- Ductile Iron rubber and concrete lined installation
- Removal of Old Assets / New Like-for-Like installation
- Shutdown tie-in works to existing Sydney Water systems
- Pre and Dry Commissioning
