New 38 ML/day Biological Nutrient Removal Plant
New 38 ML/day Biological Nutrient Removal Plant
AJM United played a vital role in delivering the new 38 ML/day Biological Nutrient Removal plant with primary sedimentation at Quakers Hill, replacing the existing secondary treatment plant. Described as one of the most challenging projects on the LSCTP Program — and AJM United's proudest achievement on a water treatment project.
Milestones engineered into delivery.
Quantifiable wins from a programme delivered to the highest engineering, safety and environmental standards.
The Challenge.
The installation of the AGS Bioreactor Tanks was the most technically demanding task. A 120t crawler crane was mobilised, large entry scaffolding erected inside each tank, and 40ft elevated work platforms positioned inside for access. Each tank's components were installed in progressive layers, requiring millimetre-precision for supports, launders, feed distribution pipes, waste pipes, aeration air pipework, fine bubble diffusers, downcomers, and reactor modules.

Scope of Works.
- Supply, Engineering, Manufacturing, Coatings, Structural Steel & Piping
- AGS Bioreactor Tank installation (4 tanks)
- Ductile iron lines for tertiary filters, sludge harvesting, and lowering tanks
- PVCU Sch 80 and ABS double containment for chemical systems
- SS316 pipe fabrication and supports
- PE electrofusion and butt-welded underground services
- Coordination across multiple in-service process facilities
